Where I live, Autumn has begun, the leaves have turned shades of yellow, red and orange, soon Winter will be here. As the climate cools I love to keep warm sipping on tea. Tasting tea rooms are becoming extremely popular in New York and Japan. We need to reign in this coffee craze and make room for fine tea.
Tea is a healthy invigorating drink. Drinking tea can be great for your skin as it contains antioxidants like polyphenols which protects against certain age-related diseases. One study has found that drinking six cups of tea is like eating six apples. Tea also has a fascinating 4,500 year history with traces of tea connoisseurship going as far back as 2737BC China.*
My skin simply loves drinking up the benefits of tea, for the morning I love an Assam or Kenya and then in the mid afternoon a smoky lapsang souchong. Then lighter teas as the evening looms, like a fruity darjeeling. I also like to detox and take a tea for dinner instead of a meal, perhaps a lighter oolong, something clean and elegant to aid in some deep beauty sleep. Continue reading
Liquid Laser is the “all the rage” in beauty right now and it’s about to go off and disrupt the laser treatment game. If you are like me and often find yourself deep in cogitation about laser treatment, shall I? shan’t I? Is it necessary? Is it too invasive? Then let me help you out with five words Liquid Laser Concentrate by Alpha-H. It is beyond WOW.
It is packed with exemplary ingredients, some of which are Juveleven, a revolutionary new Hexapeptide, which mimics the action of the Hydra Jellyfish, a freshwater organism nicknamed the “Immortal Jellyfish”. Hydranov-P, which is naturally derived from Scandinavian Red Algae and stimulates the actual synthesis of natural Hyaluronic Acid in the skin by over 211%.
I am completely addicted to Alpha-H’s Liquid Laser Concentrate and I honestly feel as though I have turned back the clock on my skin leaving me petrified that if I don’t use it, my face will fall. It leaves my skin feeling super plumped with a porcelain feel, penetrative and thick on the skin. I feel like it’s working when I am sleeping. I wake up and my skin is clear, clear, clear and lifted.
How I use it: Continue reading
If you take a look at the Guinot skin care range, you could probably pick out a Guinot product you have used at least once during your lifetime. Perhaps names like Masque Essentiel and Gommage Biologique resonate? (They were my faves as a teen).
If you don’t know Guinot: it is a skin care range from Paris which has been around for about 40 years and is a benchmark for many beauty salons, and deservedly so. Their range evokes luxury at an affordable (ish) price. Continue reading

I have been non committal to the many pharmacy compact mirrors I have purchased over the years, they were either too small, too big, not pretty enough, they broke or went missing. That was until about 6 years ago when I came across the Paul and Joe Beauty Mirror from Harvey Nichols, I have been faithfully devoted to this mirror ever since. It is the sweetest, loveliest, most elegant and best compact beauty mirror, it’s a pretty ivory colour with a chrysanthemum print and a solid clasp that has been truly tested over the years. Continue reading
I felt obliged to pen a beauty review on milky foot, it is the best product for smooth feet that I have used thus far. It is around the $30 mark and much cheaper than seeing a podiatrist and is very simple to use. You lather the cream on, put the foot pads on, and socks over the top…..then in about 45 minutes wash it off. The visible results don’t come for about 1 week. It’s bemusing at first because Continue reading
Retinol, Retinol, Retinol this is the game changer for ageing skin as far as I am concerned. I may not be a Doctor but I can almost guarantee that most dermatologists would agree with this statement. Retinol is a cell communicating ingredient helping to speed up the skin cell turnover which in turn helps to create healthier skin cells and increase collagen over time. People often comment on my youthful skin and I honestly believe it comes down to my persistent use of retinol for over the Continue reading
My lip balm review is on Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balms they are simply heavenly. Okay so their marketing is aimed towards men, but rest assured these lovelies are for both genders. The lip balms are clear in colour, super moisturising and come in the most divine of flavours like black tea and blackberry, grapefruit and ginger, natural mint and shea butter and lemon and chamomile. My favourite one Continue reading
I absolutely adore this Swedish Dream Sea Salt Soap. It has got to be one of the most refreshing exfoliating but gentle soaps around. The soap smells like the sea as it lathers then it leaves a lingering clean smell for hours. It’s a triple-milled soap featuring mineral-rich salts naturally obtained from seawater, it also Continue reading
